I Registered!

Yesterday was a major milestone and I can't believe that this is so REAL now! I made a baby registry! I went with my mom (is this weird that I didn't go with my husband? ) Husband and my dad were at the house painting the nursery (and the bathrooms and the master bedroom!). Since hubs isn't really a fan of shopping, let alone wandering through a baby store with no clue what to do, I decided to go with my mom who obviously knows what stuff we need. Here are some highlights of what I registered for:

highchair (nice wooden one)
breast feeding pillow
car seat
diaper bag (i'm getting the JJ Cole System bag)
soothers
bottles
bumbo
a swing thing that rocks the baby
diaper genie
play mat with a mobile thing you can put over it
first aid kit with cute little nail file and nail clippers !
change pad to go on the dresser
Baby on Board! Sign!!!
Baby monitors
bath tub thing
swaddle blankets

Going to add: a kangaroo carrier thing, breast pump, snow suit, bedding

We already have or are buying ourselves: stoller, crib, dresser/change table, room decorations, bjorn

Anything else you suggest we get? I had no idea what I need and was very overwhelmed in that store!

Definitely a fun milestone though!

29 week update coming soon!

  1. I would definitely get a Moby wrap. They are amazing! I couldn't have made it through the last three and a half months without it. It could be your kangaroo carrier thing (I'm not sure if you had something specific in mind). If you google "Moby Wrap" you'll find their page easily. I got mine at Babies R Us. As for the breastfeeding pillow, make sure you get a My Brest Friend. It is much better than the Boppy. The Boppy can be good for other things, but not as helpful for breastfeeding. Just so you know. I also didn't see sleep sacks, which you'll need when you're no long swaddling your baby. As for swaddles, you might want a few of the SwaddleMe ones with velcro to start, in case you find it hard to swaddle the baby in the muslin cloth blankets.

Congrats on you baby registry. It is a very fun milestone. I went with my SIL and MIL and it was a blast. It's so fun to just tag everything you want with the gun!

  3. Yay! I can't wait to go and register myself. Luckily hubs is very patient while shopping and will probably want to come with.

  4. Awesome, I'm excited to register myself - I have no idea if DH will want to register as well. He wasn't a fan of registering for our wedding, I ended up doing most of it online.

  5. We went looking for cribs over the weekend (AHHHHHHHHHHHH please don't jinx me baby gods) b/c we are hoping to ask for one (or two, haha) for Christmas. It was overwhelming but FUN! I googled the diaper bag you registered for...super cutie! I'm sure all of your picks were AWESOME!
