Bored and Barfy

I hate sitting around. I hate being indoors. I hate bedrest. I am not only bored out of my skull...but I have a permanent headache and gross feeling of nausea. I don't feel like i'm actually going to puke but just generally gross and queasy. I'm not sure if this is what morning sickness is or if I am just "sick" from being trapped on my couch. Of course I don't want to sound like a jerk for being in my situation. I mean, I'm pregnant! This has been my goal and my dream for sooooo long but I just feel really gross. So amid my happiness there is grossness. I also feel like a total sloth. I am usually an exercise freak. Not necessarily hard core running or training but I like to walk tons of miles everyday and just generally be really active. I feel like already I'm becoming a soft gummy bear. Big deal right...i'm pregnant so i'm allowed. But it still feels gross. Plus, I still haven't told anyone (except my doctor sister who helped me with my freak out episode on Sunday) so I feel like a big fraud lying to everyone (my family has no clue I'm on bedrest) and people at work have been calling/emailing asking what's up. I have just been avoiding the calls so I don't have to lie! We are planning to tell my family this weekend when my parents get back from Florida and hubs parents next week when we go there for a belated mother's day celebration. I'm not planning on saying anything at work until 3 months...which luckily will be just 2 weeks after I return from my bedrest leave. I also feel really guilty sitting at home doing F-all and still getting paid to do my job. I feel totally capable of working and like this bedrest is just overkill. but of course...I will not risk anything for the safety of my little lima bean!
Hope you are all having a great day. I'm off to go watch more SATC. Its on perma-play on Cosmo-TV all day ! woo hoo!

  3. Okay, I'm going to make the best suggestion for you. Have you seen Dexter?!? If not, rent the first season and I promise you'll be hooked. Hubby and I watched it in a weekend it was THAT good! We literally had to force ourselves to stop at 2am and go to bed! Well I'm so sorry you're feeling so yucky and I can only imagine bedrest is a bummer, but hang in there and just keep thinking about how all the rest is going to make it nice and zen in your body for little lima bean!!

  4. Even if the bedrest is overkill, I definitely think it's a good idea for you to take a break from the exercise. Those of us with hypothalamic amenorrhea can definitely overdo the exercise a bit, and it does our bodies good to get a little squishy!

  5. heehee, the soft gummy bear description made me giggle. you sound like you've had a rough time of things, but glad you're holding up. i'll be rooting for you and willing the time to go by quickly :o) if you need any book recommendations, the girl with the dragon tattoo was an *excellent* read (1st of 3 in a trilogy - they just made it in to a movie). *hugs*

  7. Okay, so we just recently discovered Dexter but cruised through all 3 seasons on dvd, and then headed over to my parents to watch season 4 (which I just finished this last weekend - AMAZING) since we don't have showtime. Anyways, I'm obsessed with Lost...especially if you can cruise through I think you'll like it even more. And gossip girl, LOVE it...I could so see you liking it. Plus if you get tired of being all intense on lost you can throw in some GG which is kinda like watching 90210 in NYC! Let me know what you decide and what you like!!

  8. I'm sorry you feel so gross. But like you said...anything for your little baby bean! I love the show Entourage...it's a total guy show but it's so funny and entertaining. Also, like Basic Girl said, Gossip Girl is awesome as well.
I hope you find tons to do in the next couple of weeks!

  9. Just be glad that you are pregnant...speaking of shows, if you haven't seen SIX FEET UNDER - rent the DVDs/BluRay - I am addicted and sad that the show ended.

  10. I agree with BasicGirl! LOST is the BEST! Do you watch Mad Men? That's another DVD set you can cruise through. And hubs and I recently got into Breaking Bad and House (yes, we watch waaaay too much TV). Let me know if you need any more recs or if I can send some DVDs your way, LTB! :) Hang in there. I can only imagine how much it completely sucks being stuck on the couch, but you are SO right: ANYTHING for your magic sticky bean!! xo
